+ ARCHITECTURE: NIKE "AIR" HANGAR (TVA ARCHITECTS)

Who else would have a huge privately owned hangar but one of the largest footwear companies in the world, Nike. This is just plane ridiculous (excuse the pun) but totally awesome at the same time. The building dubbed the "Nike Air Hangar" is a huge 40,000 square foot facility which is located at Hillsboro Airport in Portland, Oregon. The building, designed by TVA Architects is home to not one, not two but three Gulfstream G5 jets for the Nike executives to use for travel along with an awesome lounge area, exercise room, executive suites, meeting spaces and even a full gourmet kitchen. Now all I need to do is become a Nike executive and I'll be "feelin' so fly, like a G5". Check out the full image gallery of the Nike Air Hangar after the jump.

+ ARCHITECTURE: AOL OFFICES BY STUDIO O + A

Does anyone remember those AOL CD's that used to be everywhere back in the day offering 1000 free hours of dial up internet? Well the internet sure has come a long way and it seems so has AOL. I wasn't even aware that they were still around but alas they are and the design and fitout of their new corporate headquarters is on some next level google-type sophistication. The offices were designed by San Francisco architectural firm Studio O+A who were also responsible for the design of the Facebook headquarters. The offices are really open and the fitout is clean and minimalistic making use of a myriad colours, textures and materials. The offices have a really organic feel to them and this is certainly not what I would expect from a big corporation like AOL. Check out the full image gallery after the jump.

+ ARCHITECTURE: PAVILNIAI HOUSE BY G.NATKEVICIUS & PARTNERS

I'm the first to admit that I'm no architectural expert (calling Jonny Duval-McDuck for some architectural input, wherever he is?) but I have a reasonable idea when something is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and Pavilniai House would have Kevin McLeoud jizzing in his pants. The private residence is located in Lithuania and was designed by Architectural Bureau G.Natkevicius & Partners who were able to produce a modern, streamlined structure while maintaining the historical aspects of the site. An amazing structure and it would make a pretty cool place to live. Click through to check out the gallery.
