+ ART/DESIGN: GREG HERVIEUX x ATELIER PALOMARES GOLD SKATEBOARD

Greg Hervieux has designed a skateboard deck which I can only describe as utterly ridiculous... ridiculously awesome! Hervieux has joined forces with the people at l’Atelier Antoine PALOMARES to create a custom skateboard deck covered completely in 22 carat gold leaf. Yes, you heard right 22 carat gold leaf! Any thoughts of actually trying to skate this deck should be put out of your mind completely with the deck coming enclosed in a plexiglass box to help prevent damage to the board through oxidation, so forget about even touching it. If you do want to grab yourself one these solid gold skateboards you better get cracking because they are producing a super limited run of five units and each one will set you back €1490.00 ($2145.00 USD). If the price hasn't put you off contact BKRW at info@bkrw.com to order a deck. Check out the full image gallery of this crazy skateboard after the jump.

+ WEBSITE: THE BURNING HOUSE

Right off the bat I'll say, this is a stupidly cool concept for a website! The site I speak of is called The Burning House and the basic concept behind the site is to pose the question to various people "If your house was burning, what would you bring with you?" The participants take photos of their chosen objects, list each item in the collection and give a brief explanation of why they would bring this particular item with them. The objects are really well shot and it gives a real insight into the mindset of the owners, what they hold dear and their history. The website has only recently been launched so at the moment it features mainly friends of the creator, but if you want to get involved you can submit your own collection of burning house objects. This is definitely one site to keep an eye on as the collections grows. Check out some of the burning house images after the jump or head over to the website to check out more with full explanations.

+ ART/DESIGN: 6-PACK HOLDER FOR YOUR BIKE

So you've ridden your favourite fixie down to the local bottle-o to grab a 6 pack of imported beers for a Friday night of frivolity. However you neglected to bring any kind of vessel to transport your beer booty back to your pad. Well you could always carry the beers in one hand while you steer your bike with the other, but that's fraught with danger and puts your beers at direct risk of smashing. Well worry no more, your prayers have been answered in the form of the "Walnut Studio Bicycle 6 Pack Holder". This simple device was actually originally made to hold bike polo mallets, but who wants to secure mallets when you can secure a 6 pack of ice cold beers and roam the streets while singing "Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows" at the top of your lungs? More pictures and pricing information after the jump.
