+ MEDIA: LIFE + TIMES - CONCRETE GOLD (VIDEO)
If you know me at all you know that I'm an avid longboarder although I don't get out for a skate anywhere near as much as I would like to, even more so with us moving into winter (brrrrrrr). The longboarding scene has blown up here in Adelaide in the past few years, so much so that I sometimes even spot a few girls out skating. Longboarding is still a male dominated sport but there are more and more girls getting involved and it's always good to see more girls skating in my opinion. Jay-Z's latest online venture, the Life + Times online zine recently did a profile piece on three girls (Jenica Davenport, Nathalie Herring, and Micku Murgolo) from New York City who are sponsored by Bustin Boards and are pushing the sport forward and encouraging more girls to get involved. It's a pretty cool piece except I must say the scenes at the end when the girls are skating through the middle of New York look very dicey, but it probably helps to have a film crew following you. Check out "Concrete Gold" below and if you want to see more of what Bustin Boards NYC has to offer head on over to their website.
