So as promised here is the feature on the "New Balance x HAL 577 Day & Night" sneakers. The sneakers are a collaboration between New Balance and Australian boutique sneaker store Highs & Lows. The collaboration consists of two versions of the classic New Balance 577 sneaker, as the name implies a "Day" version and the "Night" version. The Day version is a "bright sunny suede pair for daylight duty" while the Night version is a "more rugged version designed to come out under the cover of darkness". The New Balance x HAL sneakers are set to be released on Saturday 14th May. Pricing information, stockists and image gallery after the jump.
The creative heads at Highs & Lows described the Day sneaker as "....a shoe that’d accommodate the beach-side strolls, mid-day cookouts and streetside sundowners that all take place under our city’s blue skies and golden sun. When it came to the NIGHT shoe, we agreed that the uncertainty of the evening called for a more stealthy approach and a little more solidarity in the materials. Therefore, the Night shoe became a black fullgrain leather and raw nubuck assassin with a breathable perforated toebox, 3M highlights and a little speckle thrown on the white sole to acknowledge the moon and stars that watch our every move after dark."
The New Balance x HAL's will retail for $200 smackeroos and you can grab a pair at the following Australian stockists on May 14 -
